The Edna Group, one of Sri Lanka's largest conglomerates, was founded 50 years ago by Mr. E. B. R. Wimaladasa, in Mawanella, en-route to Kandy, the hill capital of the country.

Member organisations of the Edna Group have diversified business interests in Chocolates & Confectionery, Engineering and Industrial Packaging and are engaged in manufacturing, marketing and trading in their areas of interests.

The Group has grown substantially in the recent past by acquisitions and new ventures, which have provided considerable opportunities for expansion of all activities.

With the opening of South Asia for regional co-operation in business, we have ventured into India, Pakistan and Bangladesh with our chocolates, confectioneries and industrial packaging products, whilst strengthening our positions in the existing markets for confectionery, wooden toys and engineering goods in the U.S.A., Canada, Europe and the Middle East.
